I have been so freakishly (is that even a word???) busy with my everyday life that I have been neglecting my blog which I apologize greatly for. I have been creating like crazy and have found that earrings are my current creation of choice! I hope everyone is well and also hope everyone is enjoying their summers! Fall is just around the corner if you can believe it. My daughter starts Kindergarten here in a few weeks which is so bittersweet. I am so incredibly proud but at the same time so incredibly scared that she is growing up. I hope I have taught her what she needs to know in order to be successful and meet friends. I am sure this is a normal mom fear =) I will have to post a pic of her first day!

I have been slacking quite a bit with my blog and I feel so lazy because of it. My daughter started PreK a few weeks ago which was a BIG deal for me. Just another sign she is growing up so fast. She and I spent our summer doing all kinds of fun stuff so I wasn't keeping up as I should. Now that she has started school, I am very excited to get back into the swing of things and get moving. I have created some great pairs of earrings the last few days...

This summer has been pretty quiet for me sales wise so I decided to use the time to create some new designs and am also currently working on updating ALL of my photos on both Ebay and Etsy for all my designs. This is a huge challenge as anyone who has ever done it knows!!! It has been soooo hot here in FL that I am ready for some cooler weather but we have such a long summer left to go!

My mom, sis, and her boyfriend just left yesterday after being here 5 days. Since they have been here I have not been creating many designs as I have been super busy. We went to the aquarium, enjoyed my daughter's 4th birthday party, and also visited with family. I am always really bummed after having to leave them since they live so far away and we don't see them often so I have a tendency to feel like I am in a creative "rut" and have a hard time creating new designs. To be proactive this time, I forced myself to sit down and work after they left yesterday and it was actually a great decision because I ended up creating 4 pairs of earrings (which I will be posting this week on Etsy=)).

My goal is to throw myself into creating over the next few days and hopefully avoid my slump completely!!! Visit HandspunJewelry.etsy.com over the next week and hopefully I will have overcome my grumpy mood=)))

Copper

I have oftentimes seen jewelry created with copper findings and thought it to look quite beautiful and interesting but I had never gotten up the never to try it myself. I finally bought some copper plated accessories to create some necklaces and I just love it. Copper has such a timeless look and really compliments many other stones. Now all I need is a million dollars to buy all the stones, copper, and silver I want!!!

My mom, sis, and sis's boyfriend are coming down for a visit in June for my daughter's birthday. I am sooooo excited. They are only down for 5 days so we are going to have a pack a lot in. I also have been working like crazy jewelry making!!! I get so sucked in to creating=)

I was also able to finally create my first Treasury for Etsy yesterday. It was a lot of fun looking thru great Etsy finds.

I just love Spring. It is a time of year of growth and beauty all around. I live in Florida so the Spring change is more subtle... more birds, slight breeze, Gulf water above 70 degrees (ha, ha). Every Spring I find myself creating designs that are light in color and full of fun. Take a look!!!

New Year & New Purpose!!!

I am in the process of reorganizing my Handspun Jewelry Designs inventory and am aiming to have new items listed everyday. Times are tough for all so my goal is to list everything at an affordable price. Come check us out!!!

On a lighter note, my daughter is watching her new Peter Pan movie for the 9,000th time since Christmas. It is amazing the background noise you can tune out as a parent, but for some reason the "I can fly" song just gets stuck in my head everytime!!!

Why does it feel like June 2009 already???

This year has just started and it feels like it is going by much to fast!!! I am busy cleaning house and actually have listed some of my daughters clothes she doesn't wear anymore on Ebay to try and clean house. I am actively trying to live a more enjoyable and clutterfree life for 2009. I do not think I am succeeding yet but I am trying and that is what counts!!! I have been busy creating some new earrings I will be listing on both Ebay & Etsy. I know that many are strapped during this hurtful recession so I wanted to make some small pick me up gifts!

Hello 2009....
I like other folks am very happy to see 2009. The end of a year has such a symbolic meaning for so many. I normally don't do Resolutions for the new year but this year seems different to me for some reason so I have decided to list a few:
1. Always remember what is really important in my life
2. Work hard to spend more time with my family while increasing my exposure for Handspun Jewelry Designs online (easier said than done)
3. Don't stress about what I don't have around me (whether it be family or whatever) and focus on what I do.

I love and hate this time of the year. Like many Americans this holiday season, I don't have much money to spend but I still feel the pressure to get a lot of things for my family and daughter. I keep having to remind myself that that is not what is important about this time of year. This year I get to have all of my family together for the holidays which never happens and I feel truly blesses!!! I just wish that I didn't have the nagging, wish I had more money blues =(((

Belly Dancing/ Dancing Inspired Jewelry

I haven't worked with Antique Silver Plated Charms or Chandeliers before like this and I have found that I love them!!! They are so unique looking and add an old world look with a modern flair. I got the idea from my Aunt who enjoys belly dancing and she and her troup of dancers are always looking for decently priced jewelry as most dancing inspired jewelry is quite expensive. I hope to add this look to other jewerly pieces as well. Enjoy your day!!!

Hello all~ As you can see from my blog, I created handcrafted jewelry pieces in my spare time and also design pieces upon request. Just a few days ago I unfortunately had an accident while cooking dinner and burned some of my fingers which has made it impossible to make any new designs. I have been soooooo bummed about this and soooo frustrated. I guess I didn't truly realize until now how much I really enjoy this outlet of my feelings. I guess the old adage is true that you never really know how much you care about something until it is gone (or in my case temporarily unavailable). I just started back working on new pieces today and I feel so much better.... Everyone needs an outlet for feelings or frustration (pick your outlet wisely)!!!

I have a 3 year old daughter whom I love to spend time with. I love to watch her develop and grow and feel truly blessed that she is in my life everyday. I have also been lucky enough to be home with her for the past 2 years. I love being home with her but found that I was feeling a bit surpressed and torn... I loved being home and spending time with her but also felt I needed a little something to focus on!!! I have always been interested in creating jewelry but never took the time to do it. I finally decided to give it a go and here I am creating & selling via my Ebay store. I have come a long way from starting this venture a little over a year ago but it has been worth it. I feel satisfied that I tried something and am sticking with it!!! Hope everyone takes the leap sometime in the life and tries something they really enjoy =))))
